Wind Turbine Installation - Planning Permission & Surveys
Whatever wind turbine project you’ve got in mind, whether you’re planning a wind farm or a single wind turbine, you’ll need planning permission from your local council.
At Coemi, we remove the time and effort you would have to spend on this by employing a dedicated professional planner to do the work for you. James Davis from Aspire Planning represents that part of our team and is very experienced in applying and acquiring planning permission for wind turbines.

The cost of the planning application forms part of our overall quotation, although local planning fees and surveys will cost more.
Our planning package takes care of 4 key areas prior to wind turbine installation:
Application forms
As well as the basic application forms, we provide the local authority with a description of your site, standard planning data from RSPB and English Nature, and technical information about your chosen wind turbine.
Photo montage
We take photos of the proposed site of your wind turbine installation. Then, using photo editing software, we seamlessly insert a realistic image of the particular model you have chosen. This allows planners and neighbours to get the fullest impression of your finished project.
Wind turbine noise
How much noise your wind turbine produces depends largely on the sound produced by the blades, generator and internal mechanics. Coemi-Skywing wind turbines have a maximum operation noise of 56db. With back ground noise and positioning away from residential properties there is very little affected than those nearby properties – and even those nearby will detect the sound less if there are buildings, hills, soft ground or trees in the way.
To comply with national noise regulations, we measure how much sound your wind turbine would produce in a flat, open, hard ground area and compare that with the background sound of your site.
Environmental considerations
We also assess the environmental impacts of wind energy, taking into account people, animals, plants, air, soil, water, landscape and cultural heritage. For wind farms in particular, birds can be a major concern - beginning construction outside nesting seasons would is a good way to deal with this.
Wind Turbine Survey
Once we have made a technical survey we can help you decide on which Coemi wind turbine is suitable for your site based on the average wind speed, your power connection, electrical conditions and environmental considerations.
We can also assess the potential energy your turbine is likely to generate and how much energy can be saved and income you can generate.
Wind Turbine Grid Connection
Also as part of our service we will contact your local DNO, District Network Operator to obtain the rights to connect to the grid. This will ensure that your turbine operates correctly and enables you to apply for an export meter from your supplier.
